What are eyelet curtains? 

Eyelet curtains have holes in the fabric of the curtain itself, punched through at regular intervals with metal rings, or eyelets. This creates deep folds in the fabric when the curtains are open, giving you clean lines and uniformity from top to bottom. 

Because of the eyelets, they only work with curtain poles. Our curtains fit on poles up to 28mm (or 1.1 inches) in diameter. This means they have an effortless glide when opening or closing them. 

They differ from pencil pleat curtains as they require a curtain track for installation, but offer adjustable pleats thanks to an internal cord, allowing you to customise their pleats. 

How to measure for eyelet curtains? 

Measuring for eyelet curtains is simple once you know where to start! The eyelets are built into the fabric itself, so for an accurate fit, always measure from the top of your curtain pole, not the top of the curtain. 

Start by measuring the width of your pole, excluding any decorative finishes. Then, place your measuring tape just above the pole, this is where they will hang. Measure down to where you’d like your drapes to fall. This can either be where your windowsill ends or at the bottom of the floor.

How to hang eyelet curtains. 

They are one of the easiest styles to hang. This is because they are pre-sewn in metal loops, which means no cord-pulling or hook attaching. You can simply slide your curtain onto your pole!

Once your curtain pole is attached, all you need to do is remove the finials (decorative ends) from either side of the pole, then thread the pole through each of the eyelets on your curtain, starting with the first one at the start of the curtain's fabric. Continue to do this until you reach the end, then adjust the position of the curtains until you’re satisfied with the finished look!

Reattach the finials to the pole on either side, then you're done! You’re new stylish curtains are fitted and ready to use!
