what type of living room lighting do I need?

There are three main types of lighting – ambient, task and accent. 

Ambient (or overhead) lighting is the primary or base level of lighting in a space. Usually found on the ceiling in the form of chandeliers, pendant lights or flushmounts – ambient lighting is basically the one we flick on when we want the clearest view possible. 

If you use your space to entertain guests a lot, some strong ambient lighting might be a good option for your living room. Chandeliers are always a great option, as they’ll add a strong feel of luxury while illuminating the entire room with one easy flick.
